The origin or beginnings of "Resistor" came from the theme of components by naming each track after elements used in electronic circuitry. This time around we wanted a more relaxed or chill vibe than our predecessor, Carbon Zero, with less recorded tracks and a more simpler feel. I started sending Steve some shorter guitar ambient pieces earlier in 2021 that I had on the back burner. He then manipulated these into the shorter ambient pieces you hear on the album. This set the tone along with some samples and Steve's distinct drum progressions that you hear now in the final result.
